The Original Purpose of the Electoral College

The original purpose of the Electoral College was to speed up the vote counting process because of how long it took to tally all the results - That way it would not take months to find out who won. That's all - Ironically it's doing something totally different than what it was intended to - but rightly keeping the Rednecks and Hillbillies in the middle half empty states, from having their lives dictated by well-educated empathetic inclusive Liberals - A fate obviously so terrible that they would Elect a Donald Trump as their National Inquirer reading, Hitler loving, Putin Puppet Presidential Spokesperson.
