Persevere

My mind was full as I sat in the
empty silent field outside of my deserted village
Peace was not in my mind, though my tomahawk pipe was in my hand
Peace was not in my mind, though my tomahawk pipe was in my hand
Sadness
Revenge
Loneliness
Revenge
Loneliness
They were my only friends
A Buffalo Spirit appeared alongside
me
It told me
It told me
Do not let them break your Spirit
Persevere
Even though they hunt you and
leave your bodies rotting on the ground
They still cannot exterminate you
For you are also a Spirit of Pride and Perseverance
That not even the evil ones or the years can remove from this land
They still cannot exterminate you
For you are also a Spirit of Pride and Perseverance
That not even the evil ones or the years can remove from this land
The Spirit disappeared from my
eyes
But it filled the emptiness of my heart with purpose
But it filled the emptiness of my heart with purpose
I will survive my enemy’s madness,
until the day that they become sane
